Design Review Committee for
Pelican Landing comments requests and suggestions in regards to the plans presented. Client has been working directly with WCI and development order has been turned in to Lee County but client will work with EDRC Committee to follow the suggestions/comments of presentation. Committee suggested a more Mediterranean style, which should blend in with the
Brooks Grand Plaza. Awnings - suggestion of flat awnings to push toward Mediterranean style. Paint - client stated color would be similar to residential apartments, which will be located behind the site. Committee agreed to have client work with WCI paint suggestions in memo dated 5/8/03. Floor plan - elevation shows 3 stories of column (massing) not full set of plans were distributed at EDRC meeting Exterior Elevation - very plain, see suggestions in WCI memo dated 5/8/03. Roof pitch should be lower - client stated that they are working with architect on this issue. Landscape - Cocoplum, WCI requirement is 36" (committee agreed these will be difficult to locate). EDRC committee suggested to have plans updated accordingly with suggestions from the WCI Design Review memo dated 5/8/03 and EDRC suggestions. EDRC committee suggested that the client return for an additional presentation with changes. Applicant: Bella Lago Recreational FacilityApplication Fee of $100 was given to Wayne Robinson prior to meeting on 5/14/03 Presentation by: Heidt & Associaites, Inc. as a "courtesy review" Comments: Plans and rendering for entrance were presented. Committee appreciated clients choice in presenting information to the EDRC - presentation was not required. Thanked client and consultant for taking the time for the presentation and EDRC wishes them great success, nice job! Application Fee of $100 was given to Wayne Robinson prior to meeting on 5/14/03 Presentation by: Michael Elgin and Tim Byal of Miromar Development Corporation Comments: Client informed committee that signal light is in motion at entry. Committee asked if Eckerds had to go before the Miromar Development Review committee. Response was "yes" and the landscape will reflect the exact same treatment as proposed at Corkscrew. Plan is lacking pedestrian connection to sidewalk, need for interconnection of sidewalks, client agreed to implement request and to carry out connection through center of each side of parking lot towards
Stoneybrook sidewalk. Need to Improve sidewalk access to internal access. Committee suggested to have Royals approved - to enhance right of way buffer, instead of Canopy trees. Landscape around foundation of building? Current plan is manicured sod following the formal design concept. Committee suggested landscape around foundation. Palms to be run along entrance street area to balance the royals on both side of the road. Rendering which was presented was not actual - more parking is up in the front of building than rendering shows. Valet parking area is asphalt - EDRC committee suggested to add pavers to valet portion. Dark pavers will retain heat, suggested to work with terracotta colors, more red. Dark pavers will blend too much with asphalt lot. Client is willing to work with mobile tower that is located on site. Al O'Donnell to e-mail additional information to client regarding a way to buffer the area which would be favorable to all.. Review of building color - suggested to change to a creamier color, other than white. Client and committee would like to have chain link fence removed or blocked. Client informed EDRC committee that the building is not in for permitting. Client stated, turn earth fill site - 3 months, and ground breaking in the summer or early fall. Applicant: Coconut North Properties, LTDApplication fee was not received from client - Wayne to contact them for application fee Presentation by: Tom McLean/Theresa Artuso - Holes Montes Comments: Client is presenting based on infrastructure for roadway and backbone for water drainage. Each parcel will have to apply/present it's own development review. Landscape will be cocopalms and cabbage palms - irrigation issue until each parcel is developed/sold. Each parcel will have to meet county minimum for landscape, architecture, etc. Client informed EDRC committee that the property owners association will have to take effect, including landscape. OLD BUSINESS None NEW BUSINESS Diane and Cynthia suggested that a new drop off location be established - not BBG. Al O'Donnell to inquire for drop off to be at Realty office Additional suggestion of mailing all plans to each committee member. Each member to forward requested mailing address to Wayne Robinson. This may cut down on the waste of paper and may force the issue of 11 x 17 prints. Mailing of plans - if this is established instead of a drop off location - the package must be post marked with the deadline application date in order to present at monthly meeting |
