Estero Builders Checklist
What is a Development Order?
A Development Order is "a document issued by the county development review
director granting approval of the development based upon the submittal of the
application for a development order, plans for development, plats and all other
documentation as applicable and required by [Section 10-1 of the Land
Development Code]."
All construction in Lee County requires a Development Order EXCEPT: The
construction of a single family home or duplex, and/or its accessories buildings
or structures; or bona fide agricultural.
To clarify your case, you should call the Lee County at
(239) 533-8329 or
visit their web site, rather than contacting the EDRC.
Chapter 33 of the Land Development Code also discusses development orders in
the Estero Planning Boundary.
