What are overlay districts?

The Lee County Land Development Code includes delineated sections which have unique and different requirements than the county in general. These special areas are called overlays. In Estero, the overlay districts lie along US 41, Corkscrew Road and Sandy Lane. Maps showing the boundaries of these districts are shown in  Appendix I of the LDC.
