Arts in Estero

Estero Arts Council Plans
Day-Long Celebration of the Arts
Estero Community Park will host an all-day Celebration of the Arts on
Saturday February 17, 2007. The celebration, sponsored by the Greater Estero
Cultural Arts Council, Inc. will include continuous live entertainment on
and off stage, art exhibits, food booths, information booths, art for sale,
demonstrations and other displays of interest starting at 9 a.m. and going
throughout the day.
“We are in the process of
contacting cultural organizations, artists in all media and performers in
music, song, dance and theater to considered being a part of this
celebration of the arts. We are asking others to contact us so they may also
be considered to be a part of this great day,” said Bev MacNellis,
chairperson of the event.
Participation can include on stage or walk-about performances, an exhibit
table to showcase an individual or organization’s offerings, or marketing
goods and services to the arts community. The park’s new outside
amphitheater-style stage provides attendees with a true lawn setting
experience.
Representatives of non-profit cultural organizations will be given an
on-stage opportunity to promote activities they sponsor and to invite
members of the audience to their display tables.
Artists and others
interested in participating can send information to Greater Estero Cultural
Arts Council, Inc., Arts In Estero 2007, 22819 Forest Ridge Drive, Estero,
FL 33928 or e-mail to beverlyann@comcast.net.
“We anticipate this
Celebration of the Arts to be the largest ever in Estero. I wouldn’t be
surprised if the Arts in Estero event drew 4000 people or more,” MacNellis
added.
The Greater Estero
Cultural Arts Council, Inc. promotes, raises awareness of, and fosters
interest in the arts by advocating the growth of our varied artistic
community.
